The Spontaneous E-Book Giveaway That’s Going On For No Good Reason! Giveaway 4

Good morning The Top Shelf readers! I know it’s early, at least for some of you. I figured we’d start off our day with a book giveaway! After all it is Friday and we need to paaaaaartay!

Don’t forget about giveaways 2 and 3. 2 is active until 1 PM eastern today, and 3 is active until 8 PM today! Click here for 2 and here for 3!

Today we are giving away a copy of Disintegration by Scott Nicholson! This book was on my wishlist! Scott’s novels are all pretty creepy and will keep you on the edge of your seat. I’m currently reading his newest, Liquid Fear and it’s absolutely awesome. I’ll have a review up soon! Anyway, this giveaway is 18 and up ONLY. I’ve never read this book but based on the synopsis, I think I should just add the tag.

Synopsis: Twin brothers vie for control of a family empire built on cruelty, deception, and dark secrets–and one woman stands between them while another waits in the shadows for one of them to fall.

DISINTEGRATION

When a mysterious fire destroys his home and kills his young daughter, Jacob Wells is pulled into a downward spiral that draws him ever closer to the past he thought was dead and buried.

Now his twin brother Joshua is back in town, seeking to settle old scores and claim his half of the Wells birthright. Jacob’s wife Renee is struggling with her own guilt, because the couple had lost an infant daughter several years before.
As Jacob and Joshua return to the twisted roles they adopted at the hands of cruel, demanding parents, they wage a war of pride, wealth, and passion. They share the poisonous love of a woman who would gladly ruin them both: Carlita, a provocative and manipulative Hispanic whose immigrant family helped build the Wells fortune.

Joshua wants other things, too, but Jacob’s desires are divided between the forbidden love he can’t possess, the respectability he can never have, and the revenge he is dying to taste. And Renee has dark motives of her own.

If only Jacob can figure out which one of them to blame. But the lines of identity are blurred, because Joshua and Jacob share much more than blood.

And the childhood games have become deadly serious.

All you have to do to be entered is to answer the writing topic or question. Winners will be chosen at random and you will have until Saturday at 10 AM Eastern to enter. The response doesn’t have to be long and if you choose it to be, that’s up to you. Just have fun with it! We’re giving away 2 copies!

“This book sounds really dark and twisted. What’s the most dark and twisted book you’ve ever read?”

It would have to be a Stephen King book, either The Shining or Salem’s Lot.

Book of the Dead by Kay Scarpetta. It may not be the most twisted book out there, but the torture scenes were disturbing to me 🙂

There have been two books in my life that ever affected me. The first one was 22 years ago. Rosemary’s Baby by Ira Levin. I was pregnant with my first child and due to deliver that winter. Bad book to read when your pregnant!! LOL

The other one, was Insomonia by Steven King. I have read every book by Steven King. (and as Bachman) and that one by far scared me to death! I do have insomonia, and atleast once a week I dont sleep at all. I had to go a re-read this book lately, whilst I was up one night!

Other than those two, which just gave me the willies…. the only other book to scare the crap out of me. Right to my core… is Revelations from the King James Version. YOu want nightmares?? Read that and take a look around!

I’m waiting…..I have a bad thing about figuring them out before the middle and thus they aren’t that dark and scary…..kind of like scary movies….they are scary.

    Drives everyone NUTS….when I’m laughing and they’re screaming….so sad.

Anything V.C. Andrews. The books are bleak, plus rather sick, with the constant obsession with giving new meaning to the words ‘brotherly love’
