I was hoping after the events of Tropical Depression that things were going to get better for Billy Knight. He had been through so much and things were looking brighter for him! My hopes were dashed with the beginning of Red Tide. This poor likeable character never seems to get a happy moment. Just when good things are happening, he gets sucked into the next crazy thing that he has to solve. Because if he doesn’t, who will right? So here we are thrown into an even bigger adventure than the previous one and I honestly thought the first book was GREAT! Now Lindsay has me hating characters I loved in book one, loving characters I loved in book one and loving new characters in book two. Just as in book one the plot has tons of twists and turns but this time Lindsay adds a somewhat paranormal element. I think that makes me love it even more because I’m into that kind of stuff! Love reading about it! So this book had me at “deadly plot of dark magic and profound evil”! I think instead of hoping that things end up better for Billy, I’ll just wonder what Jeff Lindsay is going to do to top this one. I don’t for one second doubt his abilities to come up with something. I can only imagine.

A huge thank you to Diversion Books and Partners in Crime Book Tours for the review copy.  It in no way influenced my review.
