Reflection on the past week

Started at 8:04 PM Eastern

So here we are! It’s the last day of the Valentine’s Week E-Book EXPLOSION! We’re a little less than two hours away from our last giveaway. The author I’ve chosen for last holds a special place in my heart. She has learned that passion, determination and confidence in yourself and your abilities makes even the most unreachable thought, idea or project be within your reach. I learned the same thing when I started scrounging up deals on this site when I first started out. Look at it now! Reviews, contests and I’m doing a straight out blog post right now!

I think you’ll see more of these from me in the future. I know you will see some interviews and guest bloggers. I also want to start recommending books again. It’s one of the things that got this place started. I hope that you all that have found me, whether it be by accident or through this contest, stay and help make this place great. I can’t do it alone.

This contest has taught me a lot. For one it taught me I was crazy enough to put this whole thing together in three days. Two days of asking for authors to join me and one day of collecting codes. It taught me that nothing large scale can be done without some form of drama hitting it. Most of all it taught me to have a good backup plan! In this case it was good to have like three. I’ll be honest with you, there were times where I felt like it was sucking up my day. Two hours pass very quickly when all you think about is when you have to post again. It was also very discouraging to have what drama that did happen force me to change my plans when things were going so well. I felt bad but I never faltered. You might ask why but all you’d have to do is look at how much fun you all were having to see that it clearly outweighed it all.

Am I going to do this next year? YES! Am I going to outdo myself before then? More than likely. I’m already brewing up ideas.

So I just wanted to take this time to thank you all. For being supportive of me and my idea to not only introduce you to new authors but to introduce new authors to you. I want to thank you for telling me to push on when you knew I had to be second guessing whether or not this was a good idea. I didn’t really know how many of you would follow me through Facebook gremlins and two moves. I ask you all to leave reviews for the books you’ve won. I feel the group I selected are a truly amazing bunch and I’m sure there are more out there that I haven’t found yet. When I do, I’ll be sure to share them with you!

I would also like to thank all the authors for trusting me to do this even when some of you had no clue what my plans were. That shows some real trust right there and believe me I would never do anything to break that. I will continue to do everything that is in my power to help you. I will always be up front and honest with you as I feel a reviewer should be and most importantly a friend should be.

This was a blast and I hope I have a bunch of happy readers and happy authors because I am definitely one happy bookworm! I really cannot thank you all enough.

Yes – Thank YOU Misty. Who knew I could find so many breaks in my day at specified times to check in with you! (Don’t tell my boss – LOL) I know this was a lot of work and a lot of stress and I’m glad you didn’t let anyone’s behavior stop you. I am very excited to try out some of these new authors… and thanks to all the authors for donating books as well! This last contest will be a doozy!

Thanks Misty for doing these giveaways over the last week. I was able to pickup 6 new books. I finished one of the giveaways, Saved by The Glass Slipper by Markee Anderson. I enjoyed this book more than I did Tick Tock. It is a real page turner. I recommend to everyone. Going to start another giveaway shortly and experience yet another author. Thanks for the opportunities authors/publisher and Misty.

I came upon the AmazonKIndle page just at the end of “the drama”, so all I know is that it wasn’t nice. I’ve enjoyed the last couple of days. When I’ve been home I’ve tried to get in on the winnings and have succeeded. I had to keep doing the time change adjustment and setting my phone alarm to warn me 5 min ahead and I still slept thru one. Teach me to stay up half the night reading. Thanks for doing this.

Tick Tock didn’t grab me from the get go, but yours grabbed me from the minute Amy was running down the beach from the man in black. I am glad that I got Tick Tock for free or I would of been disappointed in having to have paid more that a 1.00 for his book. I guess I fell for Mark and Amy. Just my opinion.

I’m pathetic…I may even have Tick Tock on my Kindle. I just checked…I HAVE IT! UGH! I have so many books on there and no time to read. That’s even funnier! Go ahead and laugh, Misty, and I’ll be right beside you laughing even harder!

WOW…I hadn’t seen this one yet…you are an absolute GEM!!! THANK YOU!!! If you ever want to write me a review on Amazon, I’d be indebted to you! Someone gave me a 1-star for this book this morning…very frustrating. From their history, they always give out 1 and 2 stars for books.

THANK YOU SO MUCH…you completely made my day today!!!

Misty, thanks to you I connected with an Indie author who’d been on the same stomping grounds and had so many things that related in his book that it was the best Indie read so far this year for me. It was fun to read and its been fun talking with the author. A connection you rarely get to have when reading a book and it wasn’t done by a book signing, it was done by internet. I hope to see more by this author and I am excited about reading the other books I’ve won and willing to review them moreso. Thanks…its been a super week!

Misty, I’ve had a great (not great, make that WONDERFUL) time this week participating in your contests and getting to know you better, not just on here but also on the Nook page. You have so much heart and passion for reading and you’ve helped make me, a not so big reader, get super excited about exploring new books and new authors. We all know that you did all of this because of your love of reading. I sincerely hope you continue to share that passion with others as they will be so lucky to learn from you! I also want to thank the authors for their generosity and talent.

Also want to say Thank You Misty! I joined the competitions late but I had a blast all the same. I was able to add 6 books to my library from authors I’d never heard of before and hopefully will enjoy. Your effort and passion despite all the ups and downs and moves and changes are very much appreciated and I look forward to the next set of competitions!
