Savannah surgeon Malcolm King had a perfect life—a loving wife, devoted daughter, and a thriving medical practice.
And then it all ended.
As he drives home from the airport after returning from a medical meeting in Miami, Malcolm’s car is struck by a hit-and-run driver in a black SUV. He reports this incident to the police, who assure him that the suspect will be apprehended after they review the parking lot surveillance video. There is a twist, however: the license plates on the SUV are traced and have been stolen. The car they were stolen from is located in Florida, and the vehicle’s owner is found murdered in a Fort Lauderdale hotel. The senseless slaughter of a neighbor’s pet soon follows. Malcolm is questioned in the matter by the police, as he had had bickered with that same neighbor about the dog the night before. An adversary is found decapitated. An old acquaintance is chopped into pieces and stuffed into a garbage bag, Malcolm soon finds himself the prime suspect in a serial murder case. But he’s not a killer. Or is he?
